Embark on a journey ⏤ of embodied remembrance through pregnancy, birth & postpartum.

Embodied Remembrance: Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga

My name is Alana (she/her).

I am a 300-hr Embodyoga® teacher, 90-hour Birthing Mama Prenatal and Postnatal yoga teacher, and community facilitator in Durango, CO serving families across the Four Corners.

My own journey to a felt sense of Self began with my initiation into motherhood. This deep dive into somatic movement and biomechanics ultimately brought me home—to a body that feels supported from the inside out.

Through Body-Mind Centering® and functional movement, I help others find relief from SI joint pain and pelvic floor tension, offering a grounded path through life’s greatest seasons of growth

Disembodied cultures announce only the birth of a child. Embodied cultures announce the arrival of a newborn baby, as well as a newly born parent.

What is‍ ‍embodiment? Somatic Support for the Modern Parent.

It’s not woo woo. it’s biology.

Embodiment is a state of being in which we are attuned to our body’s physical sensations. Scientifically, we know that 80% of information travels from the body to the brain, with only 20% traveling back down. There is immense wisdom held within the cells, fascia, and nervous system of our bodies.

Building Resilience in Pregnancy & Parenthood

As parents and birthing people in Durango, we have many moments of needing to listen to this internal wisdom. Whether you are navigating prenatal transitions or postpartum recovery, learning to differentiate between "yes" and "no" in the body is an integral part of parenting.

Somatic Practices for Safety & Ease

The ability to listen to our bodies requires a sense of nervous system safety. In modern society, many of us lack this due to cultural conditioning and trauma. My somatic practices and yoga offerings aid in this journey of re-discovery, helping you feel at home in your body throughout the ever-evolving adventure of parenthood.
